Fibers Unsorted on tour / Successful Dutch Design Week

设计

Recycling and sustainability were the omnipresent themes at this year's 20th Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (Netherlands). In this context, imat-uve presented for the first time the exhibition "Fibers Unsorted", which impressively shows the development of recycling old clothes into a high-quality technical yarn. We were in good company with this, as many of the projects and exhibits on display took a critical look at over-production and consumer society. "Fibers Unsorted" gives a concrete inspiration on what to do against textile waste.

The idea of producing applications for the automotive industry from a yarn that is 100 percent recycled from mixed fibers generated a lot of interest among everyone involved in Dutch Design Week, exhibitors and visitors. In the extraordinary location Klokgebouw, "Fibers Unsorted" was an essential part of the official Guided Tours of Dutch Design Week. Other exhibitors were also so enthusiastic about the installation and created additional attention among visitors. Some new project ideas are already in the pipeline. A big thank you goes to our Interreg project partners as well as the designlab envisions with whom the exhibition was created and Ronald Smits for the impressions.

"Fibers Unsorted" will be on tour at other design studios in the automotive industry after its stop at the TextilTechnikum in Mönchengladbach (until Dec. 2, 2021). If you are interested in visiting the exhibition in Mönchengladbach, please contact us at hello@fibersunsorted.com.
